I have learnt that nothing comes easy easy and when you give do not expect anything in return.

    2. I am Fombason Diana from Cameroon and i will be attending merit360, an opportunity i saw on OD
1)I was selected to attend the Merit360 conference which will take place in new york at the end of this month from 27th august to 11th september.
I first saw this advertisement for this opportunity on the Opportunity desk website early this year and thought it was a good opportunity to apply for. The application process was not so easy but i was determined to participate. I filled the lengthy online application form and submitted. i then got an email after like a week saying i had been selected to do an online interview which i then did. I was later finally accepted to Merit360 conference organised by World Merit based on my interview. But that was not all; for my place to be confirmed i had to pay a hundred pounds as registration fees. My very generous Mentor in US willingly paid that for me. I was very excited and happy and willing to push on because i now knew my place was confirmed.
But i still had to get a visa and fundraise 650 pounds to be officially qualified. I have already fundraised the the money and gotten my visa. I will be participating in the event come 27th August. I am super super excited to visit New york
2)The lesson i learn from this is that to be successful, you need to be very persistent and optimistic and more importantly very hardworking. I told a couple of friends about this opportunity but many refused to apply given that we had to fundraise 700 pounds which is a lot of money. I raised that money when i got my without contributing a dim because i was pushful and persistent. i will advise others to come out of their comfort zones and push themselves to do things they have been looking at as impossible and so difficult to do and they will be surprised at the reward.
      3) Opportunity desk was the one who made available to me the opportunity i consider a lifetime opportunity because in World Merit i already look forward to a very better future tackling the UN sustainable development. Go Opportunity desk!!! I advise us to make opportunity our 1st stop every morning; it has a diverse package and be sure to grab an opportunity.
